From the late 90. area around the church in Zabrze-Konczyce (designer Jan Kubec)and its surroundings are developed as the city square. General division into rectangles were given by Jan Kubec with overall idea what should be there. From 2002 I'm filing that parts trying to follow this idea to keep the building and its surrounding as one unitary structure. At September 2015 that place received name of Cardinal August Hlond - primary Polish bishop in Silesia after restoring independence in 1918. Parts of the Park:
- Square of Remembrance
- St Mary Garden - with hills enclosing place for the figure
- Heavenly Meadow - with ornamental plants
- Rectory Garden - with outlines of old not existing chapel and the cross in place of former altar; there are boulders because “if they keep quiet, the stones will cry out”
- Blessing Square - now in form of meadow
- Paradise Garden - with some blooming trees
The park is the only in the district and really popular, maybe because of possibility of walking on grass here.
