Abstract: The article has shown problem of the protection of old Ginkgo trees in Upper Silesia. Some examples are shown, concerning how they surroundings look like now. The discussion refers to possible ways of change the exposure of the trees that should enhance their exceptional aesthetic values.

Abstract: Area of Upper Silesian Botanical Garden under design represents the highest natural value. There were found 51 trees and shrubs of dimensions pretending them to law preservation. They shouls become important elements of landscape of the Garden, determining some parts of its road system and some new plantations.
